Learning Through Immersion:
A Listen and Practice Playlist on YouTube

Learning through immersion is an effective method to study any language as a second language.

A playlist that is composed of "Listen and Practice" video clips of our lessons on YouTube seems a perfect learning companion with a pair of earphones and a smartphone.

The objective of immersive learning is to create an environment where foreign speech becomes ambient sound in a daily atmosphere through multiple iterations.

That's where my idea came from.

The last "Listen and Practice" sections of my lessons are composed of six to nine example sentences. Each sentence begins with an English sentence, followed by its Chinese counterpart, and repeats three times. There is an interval each time for the student to repeat what she or he had heard.

I have clipped the last section of each lesson into a standalone video clip. These video clips are assembled into a playlist on YouTube. You can find the playlist through the link here.

The playlist could be played sequentially in a repetitive mode, ideal for a long drive or ⸺ for those who are sleepless ⸺ on a sedative night.
