Why Simplified Chinese, for Beginners?
Chinese Mandarin has two glyph systems, Simplified Chinese(SC) and Traditional Chinese(TC).
SC is evolved from TC. Generally, SC is thought much easier for beginners to learn than TC.
Since 1959, China makes SC the official glyph system in all territories under their administration to promote literacy nationwide.
Stroke counts of SC are obviously less than those of TC.
SC also comes with its own system of phonetic symbols called the Pinyin system which utilizes Latin alphabets easily recognizable by—and less intimidating too—western Chinese learners.
Generally, it will take only a short period of time for an SC learner with basic knowledge to switch over to TC.
We will compare and explain the similarities and differences between SC and TC throughout my lessons to prepare you for the best of both worlds.
Nothing to worry about. Just get it started!
